16 June International union delegation from Nicaragua to visit Wolverhampton TUC meeting

 

Derby Silk Mill workers festival Sat. 18th June

Market place Derby assembling at 10:00am, leaving at 10:55am

for the round Derby march ending at the silk Mill museum with the laying of

the commemorative chaplet and/ or the music, entertainment and community

stalls 1pm on Cathedral Green and continues to 4:30pm

A pop-up exhibition ‘Usdaw: 125 Years Strong’ will open to the public, free of charge,

now until 30 June 2016 at the Dudley Archives and Local History Centre.

 

The Union of Shop Distributive and Allied Workers is celebrating its 125th anniversary at Dudley Archives and Local History Centre throughout June. The union’s pop-up exhibition reviews Usdaw’s social history and showcases campaigns then and now in the areas of safer workplaces, better conditions, improved pay and fairness at work. The exhibition is free, open to all and offers a fascinating insight into the rights of shopworkers through the years.

Sunday 2nd October, the day the Tory Conference starts, TUC demo/rally with Victoria Square and Colmore Row booked. Owen Jones has already agreed to speak plus other national and local speakers.

there are likely to be events running through the week of the Tory Conference with organisations running their own protests, meetings and events.
