Wolverhampton, Bilston & District TUC Secretary’s Report March 2012
March 28th industrial action
A meeting of the involved unions will have been held by the next trades union council meeting and so full details of a Wolverhampton rally/demonstration will be available at the meeting on 15 March.
This month’s debate: The Trades Union Congress (TUC) has just launched a new project to support and develop locally-based campaigns in a number of Black Country areas including Wolverhampton. It aims to create networks around shared values and involve people who are upset, insecure or worried by cuts to their local services and create simple, targeted campaign actions to protect communities and neighbourhoods. This project is coordinated by Zoe Parish and Rosa Crawford; who will be at ourmeeting on March 15th
What issues will the campaign focus on? The TUC is deeply concerned by the impact of cuts on communities and local services. This project is about finding out how these problems affect your community. So they want to meet community groups, campaign organisations, and anyone who might share these concerns and might be interested in working together with them.
