A call for support from fellow Trades Unionists
at Earls High School, Halesowen
The Earls High School, Halesowen is consulting over Academy status.
The Governors have the right to turn the school into an academy.
Two letters have gone out from the Chair of Governors to parents. The trades unions have asked to send a letter out to parents to put over the case against an academy and to let them know of opposition to it at the school. We are still waiting for the reply.
The Chair of Governors states:
“We are very clear that the staff at The Earls High School are its greatest asset…”
The greatest asset needs be listened to.
Teaching unions voted against an academy at The Earls.
The head teacher makes no secret of his position which is in favour of academies.
All of the trades unions oppose academies – put simply, it is privatisation and we oppose it!
We ask for your support to demonstrate against academy status at
The Earls High School gates from 5.30pm -6.30pm
on Thursday 13th October
when the Governors’ meeting takes place.
We know this maybe an awkward time for many, but if you are able to spare some time to support us it would be really be appreciated.
Please, if you are able, bring banners.
You can park on the hill – Furnace Lane – right by the school.
