Re-instate the Link – Wolverhampton to Walsall Rail Service

The Government and London Midland Train operating company have axed Wolverhampton to Walsall rail services.
Commuters now face lengthy bus connections or will get in their cars and clog the roads.

The Service provided an important direct link for people of Walsall and Wolverhampton together with access to connecting rail services. This cut is astonishing since there has been a significant increase in the number of people using this service. Axing rail services also goes against government policy of seeking to reduce carbon emissions from the transport sector.

Wolverhampton RMT Branch and WB&DTUC distributed campaign information at Wolverhampton Station and the RMT will continue to campaign for the link's re-instatement.

The campaign was supporting Wolverhampton MP Ken Purchase's parliamentary motion (EDM2300) calling on the government to ensure that the rail service remains in operation.
