In the absence of an annual conference, the TUCJCC will be organising a Zoom event for all trades councils and county associations, where we can discuss the campaigning work of trades councils that has taken place this year and look ahead to the economic, social and political challenges in front of us. National trades union councils zoom meeting will take place between 6 and 7.30pm Tuesday 28th July.

If you or any trades council delegates would like to participate please email tradescouncils@tuc.org.uk by no later than noon on Friday 24th of July.

Our Secretary, Nick Kelleher was nominated by us for the West Midlands rep for the Trades Union Councils’ Joint Consultative Committee (TUCJCC). It appears no other nominations were received – awaiting confirmation of election.

PSC has defeated the UK Government in the Supreme Court, wiping out regulations that restricted the right of Local Government Pension Funds (LGPS) to take ethical investment decisions, such as to withdraw money from companies complicit in Israel’s grave human rights violations. Wolves PSC is asking West Midlands LGPS pension holders to get in touch with us, and join our network of activists calling for justice. Fill out this form!

Blackburn TUC request: Blackburn College to change its mind about closing the Blackburn Trade Union/ Health and Safety Education Centre, and also to abandon its determination to make a wider group of staff redundant. We are essentially attempting to spread information about this situation as widely as possible and in this respect we would be grateful if you could assist simply by circulating links to this UCU petition and to this article on our website
