Congratulations to Rob Marris, the Vice-President of Wolverhampton, Bilston and District Trades Union Council on his election as Labour MP for Wolverhampton South West; and to Emma Reynolds MP in Wolverhampton North East and Pat McFadden MP in Wolverhampton South East, who both increased their majorities.
Labour won 2 extra seat and held all others in the council elections giving them 48 of the 60 seats.
There will be a discussion on the future ahead post-general election at the delegate meeting.
Wolverhampton Workers’ Memorial Day also had Angela Eagle MP speak. Video and report in Ex & Star (on website). 55 attended the theme for the day was “removing exposure to hazardous substances in the workplace”.
1st May Wolverhampton Workers’ Day. Another successful event with between 200 and 300 attendeed including a Norweigian union delegation from Industri Energie. The Secretary, Bro.Kelleher was awarded with his TUC Silver Badge for Long Service

On Saturday 20 June 2015, the Peoples’ Assembly will be organising a major national demonstration to tell the new government: END AUSTERITY NOW
