The IDF hold the majority of Gaza still. 500,000 last Saturday at London demo one of the largest, largely ignored by media. Locally held Sainsbury boycott lobby and protest at pensions Committee in favour of divestment from Israeli arms manufacture. Public meeting last week on life in West Bank. - @8pm discussion of strategies to oppose the far-right. NK laid out local situation. Cnllrs reported far-right acting with impunity and making wild unfounded allegations. Report of attempts to mobilise parents on school gates through social media. Voters on doorsteps, expressing fears of racism for first time since BNP were standing. Red paint on zebra crossing causing distraction and hazard- assured council was repairing such vandalism. Continue to oppose far-right attempts to demonstrate locally. Correspondence with Hope Not Hate re hosting leafleting in Bilston North on 18/19 October; their leaflet wasn’t very clear and not liked either by local councillors. Agreed to produce our own leaflet highlighting anti-worker element of Reform for use in Bilston North; eight other wards are of concern. Need to share intelligence on local activity.
