It has become apparent that Avanti West Coast management have treated the Catering grade with utter contempt. Members have rightly refused to be treated this way by management and will not tolerate an inadequate work life balance, with hard-won agreements being attacked.
RMT National Executive Committee has considered the matter and have listened to representatives and taken the decision to call on all Avanti West Coast Catering Grade members to take further industrial action on: Friday 26th July and Saturday 27th July
Strikes are in response to Avanti West Coast’s cuts to jobs, enforced overtime and the implementation of new rosters that have led to significant stress and exhaustion among employees.

Campaigning for stability in work Schedules and a fair work/life balance.
Caterers at the company are deeply unhappy about short notice changes to shift patterns, job cuts and enforced overtime.

RMT members are unable to fulfil or plan family commitments, attend medical appointments and that is having a detrimental affect on the workforce.
