Join trade union learning representatives, workplace activists, educators and lifelong learning champions from across the region at the TUC Midlands Festival of Learning 2026 on
Thursday 5 November in Birmingham. The free event will celebrate the power of learning to transform lives, strengthen workplaces and build more inclusive communities.Â
The festival will feature an inspiring programme of guest speakers, practical workshops and networking opportunities. Delegates will hear from Ayan Aden, Birmingham’s Poet Laureate, alongside expert speakers covering topics including digital inclusion, neurodiversity, creativity, equality and lifelong learning.
A range of interactive workshops will be available throughout the day, including sessions on using AI for union organising and campaigning, tackling workplace gaslighting, responding to anti-Muslim hate, culturally sensitive communication and sustainable fashion.
Whether you’re a Union Learning Representative, a workplace rep or simply passionate about learning and personal development, the festival offers a valuable opportunity to gain new skills, exchange ideas and be inspired by others from across the trade union movement.
The event takes place at TUC Midlands, 47 Summer Lane, Birmingham, from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided, and places are free. Booking is essential.
