HOPE Over Hate – KEEP OUR CITY SAFE FROM THE HATRED of the FAR-RIGHT

Sat 15 November 11am, in opposition to another planned anti-migrant far-right demo
Wolverhampton TUC delegates from a wide range of unions discussed an anti-far right strategy and decided that although far-right activity hasn’t so far drawn local support, we still need to keep challenging it where it raises its ugly head.

We called on Wolverhampton trade unionists to mobilise for this counter-protest against a planned far-right demonstration, Queens Sq Wolverhampton SUNDAY 19th October, supported by Stand Up to Racism. We were peaceful and disciplined.

Wolverhampton named one of the UK’s kindest cities
Wolverhampton has been recognised as one of the UK’s kindest cities after residents made nearly 12,000 nominations for local charities in the Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards. Based on nominations relative to population size, Wolverhampton ranked third nationally – just behind Milton Keynes and Norwich. It’s a brilliant reflection of our city’s community spirit and the generosity of people who go out of their way to support good causes.
