Wolverhampton Public Services Union Alliance constitution

1. The group will be called the Wolverhampton Public Services Union Alliance and shall meet monthly as a sub-committee of Wolverhampton, Bilston and District Trades Union Council. Emergency meetings can be called by officers when necessary.

2. Membership of the Wolverhampton Public Services Union Alliance will be open to all bona fide trade unions in the Public Sector in Wolverhampton.

3. Representation at meetings of the Wolverhampton Public Services Union Alliance will be on the basis of elected trade union leaders in Wolverhampton or their representatives plus a representative from Wolverhampton, Bilston and District Trades Union Council.

4. Day-to-day management will be in the hands of the elected officers of the Wolverhampton Public Services Union Alliance

5. The officers of the Wolverhampton Public Services Union Alliance will be Secretary and Chairperson and will be elected annually in September.

6. The Wolverhampton Public Services Union Alliance will call open union meetings and public meetings as may be deemed necessary.

7. The aim of the Wolverhampton Public Services Union Alliance will be to defend the public sector, its service users and its workers in Wolverhampton.

8. The constituent unions of the Wolverhampton Public Services Union Alliance agree to joint campaigning in the defence of the public sector in Wolverhampton.

 9. No decision on any joint campaigning will be taken without the consent of the constituent unions of the Wolverhampton Public Services Union Alliance.

10. Any constituent union agrees to the use of its logo and lead officer details in any publicity material.

11. The Wolverhampton Public Services Union Alliance will be non party-political but will be free to take issue with any political party or parties acting to the detriment of public services in Wolverhampton.
