How to vote for Labour Party leader

Votes must be received by 12pm on Thursday 10 September for them to count

Voting ballots will be sent out on Friday 14 August. You’ll be able to vote by post or online.

unions that have nominated Yvette Cooper:

  • COMMUNITY
  • NUM

no unions nominated Liz Kendall

once registered:

Friday 14 August        –   Ballot mailing will be dispatched

12 noon Thursday 10 September  –    Ballot closes

Saturday 12 September   –   Special conference to announce result

This will be the first leadership contest run under the new rules, abolishing the electoral college system and introducing One Member One Vote (OMOV), with non-members supporters and trade unionists having to register as an affiliated supporter to receive a ballot.
