Trans Awareness Week 13 – 19 November is designed to increase everyone’s understanding of the issues the trans community face. It brings the trans community together with their allies, to share stories and experiences, and to advance advocacy around issues of prejudice, discrimination, and violence that affect the trans community. You can find all the TUC guidance on supporting trans and non-binary works here.

This year new TUC research into LGBT+ bullying, harassment and discrimination found trans workers experienced higher levels of bullying, harassment and discrimination at work. It revealed that around eight in 10 trans workers had experienced at least one form of bullying, harassment or discrimination at work in the last five years this compared to just under half of all LGBT workers.

How high is trade union membership where you live?

https://wiserd.ac.uk/unionmaps/

UnionMaps presents estimates of trade union membership and the coverage of collective pay agreements for detailed geographical areas. The figures related to union membership are derived from the Labour Force Survey, the main source of data used in the production of official statistics for union membership within the UK. Information related to collective pay agreements is derived from the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings. Data are provided for the Unitary Authority and Local Authority Districts of Great Britain: there are over 400 such areas.
