A ragtag bunch of 45 far-right and neo-Nazis travelled to Wolverhampton 11 April 2026, from as far away as Merseyside, to protest at an empty hotel and pose as “Wolverhampton patriots”!
Taking a day trip from up North, Ryan Ferguson, the former football hooligan probably has nothing better to do now on a Saturday afternoon, due to being banned from all football stadiums. Among them too was a masked man sporting a “Black Sun”, a Nazi symbol used by Himmler’s SS and since by neo-Nazi and satanist groups.
The Counter-protest (Wolverhampton Together, Wolverhampton TUC & SuTR) outnumbered them and drowned them out with drums and vuvuzelas.

The voices of division in our country are growing louder. Those who preach division are becoming more confident. For the first time we face a far-right party topping the polls, and far right protests on our streets mobilising the biggest numbers they ever have. Their false promises seize on the very real economic problems people face, in order to scapegoat migrants, Muslims, and refugees. But we can change things together. The voices of unity can grow stronger. We can show that strength lies in solidarity. That the change we need comes from us working together for hope not despair, for unity not racism. Together we can unite against the far right.

Model motion for Trade union branches: (feel free to amend)
TOGETHER Alliance.
This union branch notes that:
● Tommy Robinson, a former member of the BNP and the founder of the EDL was at the head of the largest ever far right demonstration in this country on September 13th.
● Nigel Farage former leader of UKIP then of the Brexit party and now of Reform-UK is currently high in opinion polls.
● Both of them are supported by some of the world’s richest people, who are seeking to promote division in their own interests.
This union branch believes that:
● There are real economic challenges facing working people in our country, but the migrants are not to blame for these challenges
● A growth in the far right will be bad for those fighting for change as it will sow division amongst working people.
This union branch welcomes the formation of the TOGETHER alliance which brings together anti racist organisations, community organisations, NGOs and others to mobilise against the far right and which is calling a unity demonstration for March 28th.
This union branch resolves to -support the TOGETHER launch statement (below) and to sign up to it.
