Hope wins over Hate again

Wolverhampton & Bilston TUC leafleted Bilston North completely in April with a our postcard, when the fascists stood in the ward for the first time. This month we delivered to the 4800 homes, a glossy local anti fascist leaflet (see below), giving the trade union alternative. We also helped knock-up identified anti-bnp voters on election day.

78% of those people who voted Bnp in the ward in May decided not to in July. Their percentage of the vote halved in 2 months. Their got their lowest ever vote in a local council election. We

The Trade Union Council has run campaigns against the Bnp, leafleting every home where they contest seats, in every election since they started standing 5 years ago. They have never won a seat. The first time they stood in a council ward was their best result. They have been in terminal decline ever since. Every time they have stood in a ward again, our leafleting has paid off and their vote has declined.  The numbers of our supporters and volunteers has increased, while their activity is stagnating.

Wolverhampton council is now Labour 30 Con-Dem 30.  Liberal mayor will use casting vote … their days are numbered
