This will be a major event either just before or just after the general election.

Either way it will put down a marker to the next government that the welfare state and public services are important to all of us and must not become a casualty of the economic crisis. 

 

Workers’ Memorial Day 28th April – we ordered 2,500 flyers and have 1,300 spare for branches to use – copies in mailing and on website – contact Secretary. Consultation outcome – see separate report

6 March event aimed at women to coincide with International Women’s Day????

26/27 March – there will be another Weekend of Action in Wolverhampton

Sunday 4th April – UAF counter-demo against ‘English Defence League’ march in Dudley 

17 April – National Day of Action – encourage our activists to support an event in Stoke-on-Trent, a priority area. 

26 April – Union Monday, encourage trade unions to do some campaigning

Thurs 6 May council elections

Report on update of our history – a digital version of the current history first 125 years has been produced which needs proof-reading.

Contact Dave Cole NUT to volunteer to help complete the 150years edition.
