#SaveUnionLearning

The Tory government has decided to cut the £11m adult education scheme Union Learning Fund (ULF) funding at the end of the financial year in March 2021.

In response, Midlands TUC has launched the public campaign to #SaveUnionLearning.

The ULF offers union members training in maths, English and IT, was first set up by the Blair government in 1998 and trains a quarter of a million people a year.

NOW WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The core action for the public campaign is to get people to sign the petition.

Feel free to do a short video and tweet using #SaveUnionLearning.

Yours in unity, Lee Barron Regional Secretary, TUC Midlands

Campaign to Save Ruskin Trade Union college
I am writing to ask you for your help to save Ruskin College.
With the Chair of Trustees, Doug Nicholls, I am helping to create a reservoir of supporters whom we would like to keep informed of developments.
Please let me know if, for you, this is OK.
Plus do you know of anyone who has benefitted from education at Ruskin College?  If so, please consider asking them to contact me so that I can ensure that they are up to speed with our Campaign; they may wish to write to me about the benefits of having been a Ruskin College student – and hopefully they can join me in the fight for Ruskin College to continue as the place for excellent education for working class women and men.

In solidarity,
Jim Mowatt, Director of Education, UNITE the union jim.mowatt@unitetheunion.org
