from 1stOctober 2013:
- adult hourly rate of the minimum wage increases from £6.19 to £6.31 another below inflation rise, making the NMW worth less
- development rate (which will cover workers aged 18-20 years) goes up 5p to £5.03
- rate for 16 to 17-year-olds will rise 4p to £3.72/hour
- apprentice minimum wage rate will go up 3p to just £2.68 per hour – all apprentices under the age of 19 and those aged 19 and over in the first 12 months of their apprenticeship.
